Midnight Feasts

Time Out London, December 2013

There’s more to post-pub dining than a dodgy doner. Clock on for the late shift with Tania Ballantine as she picks the best places to eat through the night in central London.

03:00

It’s almost breakfast time: if you’re still central, squeeze into all-things-to-all-people Soho institution Balans, though you’ ll find more space at the brand new branch of 24-hour Chelsea brassiere Vingt Quatre, which has just opened off Tottenham Court Road at 111a Great Russell Street. A contemporary space tricked out in shades of grey and splashes of red, it’s much more spacious than the Fulham Road original, and once again deals in please-all brassiere grub – you’ll find burgers and club sarnies here, though in the small hours it’s the eggs benedict that’s the most popular with punters. To maintain decorum last orders for alcohol are 1.45 am, but you can carry on eating till the sun comes up.
